The University of Calabria (Università della Calabria, UNICAL) -Italy

The University of Calabria (Università della Calabria, UNICAL) is a state-run university in Italy. Located in Arcavacata, a hamlet of Rende in the suburb of Cosenza, the university was founded in 1972. Among its founders there were Beniamino Andreatta, Giorgio Gagliani, Pietro Bucci and Paolo Sylos Labini. It currently has about 35,000 students, 800 teaching and research staff and about 700 administrative staff.

Institute of Advanced Studies in Communications

The Institute of Advanced Studies in Communications (Iecom) was founded in August 15, 2003, and incorporates the Communications Group and the Communications Laboratories. The Communications Group is part of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG),and is certified by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). The Iecom is a non-profit organization and an entity of publicinterest, established in Law by the Municipality of Campina Grande.The Iecom is actively involved with research activities, projects and the development and teaching of a variety of courses in electrical, electronics and communications engineering. The Communications Group have developed many courses for engineers and technicians from industry, besides being involved with the management of several contracts, for consulting and project development, with many companies, agencies, and universities, including Telecom Italia Mobile, MCI, Embratel, Siemens, Telebras, Chesf, Datashop, CNPq, Finep, UFERSA, UFPE, UPE, CSU, MIC Suporte, FITec, Unicap, Unicamp, UFRJ, UnB, Institute of the Blind, Alpargatas, Oi, Univasf, Telern.
